Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Alqamah bin Qais says: I was a man whom Allah Almighty had blessed with a beautiful voice for reciting the Qur'an. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to send for me, and then I would recite to him. When I finished the (specified) recitation, he would say, "Recite more," because I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A beautiful voice is an adornment for the Qur'an."

Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Adorn the Qur’an with your voices, for indeed a beautiful voice increases its beauty.”
