Reciting Quran in a Melodious Voice
Hadith 2913
- (إنّ عبد الله بن قيس- أو الأشعري- أعطي مزماراً من مزامير آل داود) .
Abdullah bin Buraidah narrates from his father Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Abdullah bin Qais or Ash'ari has been given one of the melodies of Dawud."
Hadith 2914
- (تعلَّموا كتاب الله واقتنُوه، وتغنُوا به، فو الذِي نفسُ محمَّدٍ بيدهِ؟! لهُوأشدُّ تفلُّتاَ من المخاضِ من العُقُلِ) .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We were sitting in the mosque reciting the Qur'an, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came, greeted us with salam, and we replied to his salam. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Learn the Book of Allah, preserve it, and recite it with melody and a pleasant voice. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! This Qur'an slips away from the hearts faster than a camel that is released from its tether."
