Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard a man saying: "O family of so-and-so!" So I said to him: "Bite your father's private part." I did not say this as an innuendo (but rather explicitly). That man said: "O Abu al-Mundhir, you are not one who uses foul language (so what happened to you)?" I said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Whoever ascribes himself to the affiliations of the days of ignorance, then say to him without innuendo: Bite your father's private part.'"
