Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sharhabeel bin Muslim Khawlani says that Ruh bin Zinba’ went to visit Tamim Dari, and saw that he was cleaning barley for his horse, and his family was sitting around him. Ruh said: “Is there not anyone in your household who can do this work?” Sayyiduna Tamim (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Why not. In fact, the matter is that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘Whoever among the Muslims cleans barley for his horse and feeds it to him, a good deed will be written for him for every grain.’”
