Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat together and do not separate, for the food of one person suffices for two, and the food of two suffices for four."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wahshi (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man said: O Messenger of Allah! We eat food, but we do not feel satiated (what is the reason)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perhaps you eat separately; eat together and say 'Bismillah' before eating, and there will be blessing placed in your food."
