Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Your smiling at your brother is charity, enjoining good is charity, forbidding evil is charity, guiding a man in a barren land is charity, showing the way to a person with weak eyesight where there is no guide is charity, removing a stone, thorn, or bone (etc.) from the path is charity, and pouring water from your bucket into your brother's bucket is charity."
