Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Hassan bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) on the day of Banu Qurayzah: “Satirize the polytheists (through poetry), indeed (Jibril, peace be upon him) is with you.”

Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Satirize (the polytheists) with poetry, for indeed the believer strives with both his life and his wealth. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! It is as if you are shooting arrows at them (through these poems)."
