Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a person's stomach were to be filled with pus until it becomes visible, that would be better for him than having his stomach filled with poetry." This hadith is narrated from several Companions, such as Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas, and Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with them), among others.
