Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Poetry is like ordinary (prose) speech, that is, good poetry is like good speech and bad poetry is like bad speech."
