Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Some poetry contains wisdom and insight."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a Bedouin came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and spoke in a very clear manner (in the narration of Musnad Ahmad, it is mentioned that he began to praise the Prophet, peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Some eloquent speech has the effect of magic, and some poetry is filled with wisdom and insight."
