Hadith 2635
- " ليسلم الراكب على الراجل وليسلم الراجل على القاعد وليسلم الأقل على الأكثر
Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Shibl (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The rider should greet the one who is walking, the one who is walking should greet the one who is sitting, and those who are fewer in number should greet those who are greater in number. Whoever responds to the greeting will receive a reward, and whoever does not respond will be deprived of the reward."
Hadith 2636
- " يسلم الراكب على الماشي وإذا سلم من القوم أحد أجزأ عنهم ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Aslam (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The rider should greet the one who is walking, and the greeting of one person from a group will suffice for all of them."
Hadith 2637
- " يسلم الراكب على الراجل والراجل على الجالس والأقل على الأكثر، فمن أجاب السلام كان له ومن لم يجب فلا شيء له ".

Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The rider should greet the one who is walking, the one who is walking should greet the one who is sitting, and those who are few in number should greet those who are greater in number."
Hadith 2639
- " يسلم الراكب على الماشي والماشي على القاعد والقليل على الكثير ".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The rider should greet those who are walking, the one who is walking should greet the one who is sitting, and those who are fewer in number should greet those who are greater in number."
Hadith 2640
- " يسلم الراكب على الماشي والماشي على القاعد والماشيان أيهما يبدأ بالسلام فهو أفضل ".
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports in a mawquf narration: The rider should greet the one walking, the one walking should greet the one sitting, and among two people walking, the one who initiates the greeting is superior.
Hadith 2641
- " يسلم الصغير على الكبير والمار على القاعد والقليل على الكثير ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The younger should greet the elder, the one who is walking should greet the one who is sitting, and those who are few in number should greet those who are greater in number."
Hadith 2642
- " إذا لقي أحدكم أخاه فليسلم عليه، فإن حالت بينهما شجرة أو جدار أو حجر ثم لقيه فليسلم عليه أيضا ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When one of you meets his brother, he should greet him with salam. If a tree, wall, or stone comes between them and then they meet again, he should greet him with salam once more."
Hadith 2643
- " إذا لقي الرجل أخاه المسلم فليقل: السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته ".
Abu Tamimah Hajimi narrates from a man of his tribe, who was a companion, he says: I searched for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), but I was not successful. I sat down, and suddenly my eyes fell upon a group, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was among them, but I did not recognize him, and he was reconciling between them. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished and left, some people also walked with him. When they called out, "O Messenger of Allah," I became certain that he was indeed the Messenger of Allah. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah! Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah! Peace be upon you. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The words 'peace be upon you' are used to greet the dead." Then he turned to me and said: "When a man meets his brother, he should say: «السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته»." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied to my greeting, saying: "And peace and the mercy of Allah be upon you, and peace and the mercy of Allah be upon you, and peace and the mercy of Allah be upon you."
Hadith 2644
- " إذا مر رجال بقوم فسلم رجل عن الذين مروا على الجالسين، ورد من هؤلاء واحد أجزأ عن هؤلاء وعن هؤلاء ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, who says that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When some people pass by a group and one of those passing greets (with salam), and one of those sitting replies, then it will suffice for both sides."
