Evils to appear before the Hour
Hadith 2570
- (والذي نفس محمد بيده! لا تقوم الساعة حتى يظهر الفحش والبخل، ويخوَّن الأمين، ويؤتمن الخائن، ويهلك الوعول، وتظهر التُّحوت. قالوا: يا رسول الله! وما الوعول وما التحوتُ؟ قال: الوعول: وجوه الناس وأشرافهم، والتحوت: الذين كانوا تحت أقدام الناس لايعلم بهم) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad! The Hour will not be established until indecency and miserliness become apparent, the trustworthy is considered treacherous and the treacherous is considered trustworthy, «وعول» will be destroyed and «تحوت» will become prominent." The Companions asked: O Messenger of Allah! Who are «وعول» and «تحوت»? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "«وعول» refers to the chiefs and honorable people, and «تحوت» refers to those people who were under the feet of others and whom no one knew."
