Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Every person’s share of good or evil has been fastened to his neck." This is the explanation of Allah’s statement «وَكُلَّ إِنسَانٍ أَلْزَمْنَاهُ طَائِرَهُ فِي عُنُقِهِ» "And We have fastened every man’s deeds of good and evil to his neck."
