Hadith 2501
Abdullah bin Abu Bakr narrates from an Arab, who says: On the day of Hunain, I bumped into the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and I was wearing heavy shoes on my feet. I stepped on the foot of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). There was a whip in your hand, and you startled me with it and said: "In the name of Allah! You have hurt me." He said: I spent the night blaming myself, and I kept saying that I had hurt the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and Allah knows that I spent the night (in great distress). When morning came, a man was saying: Where is so-and-so? I said: By Allah! (This announcement) is about the thing that happened from me yesterday. I set out, but I was frightened. (When we met,) the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me: "Yesterday you stepped on my foot with your shoe and hurt me, and I startled you with the whip. (Here,) take these (eighty) sheep in exchange for that whip."
