Hadith 2493
- (إنِّ صاحب السٌّلطان على باب عنتٍ؛ إلاّ من عصم اللهُ عزّ وجلّ) .
It is narrated from Humaid, who narrates from a man, that: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) appointed a man as the commander of an army. He went, and when he returned to you, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked him: "How did you find the leadership?" He said: I was just like some of the people; when I mounted, they mounted, and when I dismounted, they dismounted. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, the leader is on the brink of sin, except for the one whom Allah protects." That man said: By Allah! (In the future) I will not be your official nor anyone else's. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) laughed until his molar teeth became visible.
