Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Abdah bin Hazn (may Allah be pleased with him) that the owners of camels and the owners of goats began to boast to one another. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Musa (peace be upon him) was sent, and he was a shepherd of goats. Dawud (peace be upon him) was sent, and he too was a shepherd of goats. And when I was granted prophethood, I too was a shepherd of goats at the place of Ajyad.”
