Initiator of salam is superior
Hadith 2459
- (إن أولى الناس بالله؛ من بدأهم بالسّلام) .
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The person who is closest to Allah among the people is the one who initiates the greeting of peace (salam)."
