Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Hamzah bin Abdullah bin Umar narrates from his father, Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), who says: I had a wife whom I loved, but my father, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), disliked her. My father Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me, "Divorce her." But I refused. He mentioned this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Obey your father and divorce her."
