Seriousness of breaking relations
Hadith 2383
- (لو أن رجلين دخلا في الإسلام فاهتجرا؛ لكان أحدهما خارجاً من الإسلام حتى يرجع. يعني: الظالم) .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If two men enter into Islam and then sever relations with each other, then one of them (i.e., the one who wrongs) goes out of Islam until he gives up severing relations."
Hadith 2384
- " من هجر أخاه سنة، فهو كسفك دمه ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Khirash Salmi that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever severs ties with his brother and abandons him for a year, it is as if he has shed the blood of a Muslim."
