Muhammad bin Jahadah narrates from a man, who narrates from his companion from the tribe of Banu Anbar, who narrates from his father Abu Muntafiq. He says: I came to Makkah and inquired about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The people said, "He is at Arafah." I went to him there. Whenever I tried to get close to him, the companions would stop me. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Let him be." I got so close to him that the neck of his mount touched the neck of my mount. I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me of a deed that will keep me away from Allah's punishment and admit me to Paradise." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "(1) Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him. (2) Establish the obligatory prayers. (3) Pay the zakat. (4) Fast in the month of Ramadan. (5) Perform Hajj and Umrah. (6) Also, examine yourself: whatever you like for people to do to you, do the same to them, and whatever you dislike for them to do to you, do not do that to them."
