Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every religion has a distinct characteristic, and the characteristic of Islam is modesty." This hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).

Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Modesty is part of faith, and faith leads to Paradise, while foul speech and bad language are from harshness (bad character), and harshness leads to the Fire."

Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Have modesty, for indeed Allah does not shy away from stating the truth. Do not approach women from the rear."
