Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the example of a person who does good deeds after committing evil deeds is like a man who is wearing a tight coat of mail that is choking him. (When such an evil person) does a good deed, one ring of it breaks; then when he does another good deed, another ring breaks; (this continues) until (the coat of mail) falls to the ground."
