Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, a high rank is decreed for a man by Allah, but he cannot reach that rank through his deeds. Therefore, Allah continues to test him with things he dislikes, until He causes him to reach that rank."
