Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever takes up residence in the wilderness becomes hard-hearted; whoever pursues hunting becomes heedless; whoever comes to the door of the king falls into tribulation, and the closer a person gets to the king, the farther he gets from Allah the Exalted."
