A believer benefits from trials
Hadith 2274
- " مثل المؤمن مثل السنبلة، تميل أحيانا وتقوم أحيانا ".
The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of a believer is like that of a crop which bends sometimes this way and sometimes that way." This hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas and Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with them both).
Hadith 2275
- " مثل المؤمن كمثل الخامة من الزرع تميلها الريح مرة هكذا ومرة هكذا ومثل المنافق كمثل الأرزة المجذية (¬1) على الأرض حتى يكون انجعافها مرة ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The example of a believer is like that of a fresh crop which the winds keep bending in different directions, and the example of a hypocrite is like that of a pine tree which stands straight on the ground until it is suddenly uprooted all at once."
