Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I said: O Messenger of Allah! When Allah sends His punishment upon the people of the earth, there will be righteous people among them as well, will they also be destroyed (along with the evil ones)? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When Allah sends down punishment, the righteous also become afflicted with that punishment, but their resurrection will be according to their intentions."
