Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “Place a lawful thing as a barrier between yourself and the unlawful (matters). Whoever does so will safeguard his religion and honor, and whoever (crosses this barrier and commits the unlawful) comes near to it, is like a man who grazes (his cattle) around a forbidden pasture (and it is likely that they will enter it).”
