Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Avoid minor sins. (And do not consider them insignificant. Reflect that) when some people camp in a valley, one person brings a stick, and another brings one. (One by one, so many sticks are gathered that) they light a fire and bake bread and other things. In the same way, if one is held accountable for minor sins, they too can destroy a person.”
