Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to me and said: O Muhammad! Live as you wish (eventually) you will have to die; love whomever you wish (eventually) you will have to part; do whatever you wish (eventually) you will be recompensed for it. (But) know this much: the honor of a believer is in the night prayer, and his dignity is in being independent of people.” This hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d, Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah, and Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with them).
