Hadith 2133
It is narrated from Taliq bin Habib Basri that Sayyiduna Abu Taliq (may Allah be pleased with him) told him: My wife Umm Taliq (may Allah be pleased with her) came to me and said: "Abu Taliq! Prepare for Hajj." I had a camel and a she-camel. I used the she-camel for Hajj and the camel for Jihad. She asked me for the camel so that she could perform Hajj. I said: "Do you not know that I have dedicated it for the way of Allah?" She said: "Hajj is also in the way of Allah, so give it to me, may Allah have mercy on you." I said: "I do not wish to give it to you." She said: "Then give me the she-camel and you perform Hajj on the camel." I said: "I will not prefer you over myself." She said: "Then at least give me some expenses." I said: "I do not have so much wealth that is surplus to the needs of myself and my family." She said: "If you give me, Allah will grant you a better reward." When I refused this as well, she said: "When you go to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), convey my greetings to him and tell him everything I have said to you." I went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), conveyed her greetings to him, and told him all her words. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Umm Taliq is truthful. If you had given her the camel, it would have been in the way of Allah, and if you had given her the she-camel, both of you would have been in the way of Allah, and if you had given her some expenses, Allah would have granted you a better substitute." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! She was also asking you: Is there any deed with you that is equal to performing Hajj?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Performing Umrah in Ramadan."
