How to pass by places of punished nations
Hadith 2113
- " لا تدخلوا على هؤلاء القوم المعذبين إلا أن تكونوا باكين، فإن لم تكونوا باكين فلا تدخلوا عليهم أن يصيبكم ما أصابهم ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by the stone dwellings (the abodes of Thamud), he said: "Enter the places where the previous nations were punished while weeping. If you cannot weep, then do not enter them, lest you be afflicted with the same punishment." Then he covered himself with his cloak while sitting on his mount.
Hadith 2114
- (إذا مررتُم على أرضٍ قد أهلكت بها أمَّةٌ من الأمم؛ فأغِذُّوا السَّيْر) .
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When you pass through a land where a nation was destroyed, then walk quickly."
