Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When you come upon green and lush land, dismount and let your mount graze, and when you come upon drought-stricken land, then ride, and travel at night, for the distance of the land becomes shorter at night."

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Travel at night, for the earth is folded up at night (i.e., its distance becomes shorter)."
