Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Mu’adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever is wounded in the way of Allah will come on the Day of Resurrection with the wound having the fragrance of musk and the color of saffron, and upon it will be the seal of the martyrs. Whoever sincerely asks Allah for martyrdom, Allah will grant him the reward of a martyr, even if he dies on his bed.”
