Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Sayyiduna Humaid bin Hilal (may Allah be pleased with him) says: A man from the tribe of Tufawah, who used to pass by us, came to his tribe and said: We came to Madinah with our trade caravan and sold our goods. Then I said: I will surely go to this man (the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him) and inform those who come after about your circumstances. I reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he showed me a house and said: "A woman used to live in this house. She left behind twelve goats and a spindle with which she used to spin, and went out with a Muslim military detachment. (When she returned, she saw that) one goat and the spindle were missing. She said: O my Lord! You have guaranteed protection for the one who goes out in Your way, and I have lost a goat and a spindle. Now I beseech You by oath and ask You for my goat and spindle." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) began to mention to his Lord the intensity of her demand and said: "She got her goat and another goat like it, and her spindle and another spindle like it. If you wish, go to her and ask her yourself."
