Martyr’s wish to return to the world and its reason
Hadith 2048
- " ما على الأرض من نفس تموت، ولها عند الله خير، تحب أن ترجع إليكم ولها الدنيا إلا القتيل (في سبيل الله) ، فإنه يحب أن يرجع فيقتل مرة أخرى ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Ubada bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Any human being found on the earth, when he dies and Allah has a better (end, i.e., Paradise) for him, he does not wish to return, even if he were given the whole world, except for the one martyred in the way of Allah, because he wishes to return and be martyred again."
Hadith 2049
- (يا جابرُ! أمّا علمت أنّ الله عزّوجلّ أحيا أباك، فقال له: تمنَّ عليَّ، فقال: أُردُّ إلى الدُّنيا فأُقتلُ مرةً أُخرى! فقال: إنّي قضيتُ الحُكمَ: أنّهُم إليها لا يُرجعُون؟!) .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Jabir! Have you been informed that Allah Almighty has brought your father back to life? (It happened in such a way that) Allah Almighty said to your father: Make a wish (I will fulfill it). Your father said: Return me to the world, I want to be killed again. Allah Almighty said: Indeed, I have made a decision that (those who have died once) will not be returned to the world."
