Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the person who brands marks on the face.

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a donkey whose face had been branded was brought past the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Has the report not reached you that I have cursed the one who brands an animal on its face or strikes it on its face?" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade doing so.
