Hadith 1998
- " الذهب والحرير حلال لإناث أمتي، حرام على ذكورها ".
Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Gold and silk are permissible for the women of my Ummah, but forbidden for the men."
- " طوق من نار يوم القيامة. قاله لمن رأى عليه جبة مجيبة بحرير ".
Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a cloak whose collar was made of silk, then he (peace be upon him) said: "On the Day of Resurrection, (in exchange for this) there will be a collar of fire."
- " كان يمنع أهله الحلية والحرير ويقول: إن كنتم تحبون حلية الجنة وحريرها فلا تلبسوها في الدنيا ".
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to forbid his family from (wearing) jewelry and silk, and he used to say: "If you like to wear the jewelry and silk of Paradise, then do not wear these in this world."
- " من لبس الحرير في الدنيا لم يلبسه في الآخرة ومن شرب الخمر في الدنيا لم يشربه في الآخرة ومن شرب في آنية الذهب والفضة في الدنيا لم يشرب بها في الآخرة ثم قال: لباس أهل الجنة وشراب أهل الجنة وآنية أهل الجنة ".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever wears silk in this world will not be able to wear it in the Hereafter; whoever drinks wine in this world will not be able to drink it in the Hereafter; and whoever eats or drinks from gold and silver vessels in this world will not be able to eat or drink from them in the Hereafter." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This (silk) is the clothing of the people of Paradise, (wine) is the drink of the people of Paradise, and (gold and silver vessels) are the vessels of the people of Paradise."
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade (wearing) a gold ring and an iron ring.
