Sayyidah Subay’ah Aslamiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: Some women who had come from Syria visited Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her). She asked them: “Which people are you from?” They replied: “From the people of Homs.” Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked: “The ones who go to bathhouses?” They said: “Yes.” Then she said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘It is forbidden for the women of my Ummah to enter bathhouses.’” One of those women said: “Can I comb my daughters’ hair with this drink?” She asked: “Which drink?” She replied: “This wine.” She said: “Would you like to comb with the blood of a pig?” She replied: “No.” She said: “This (wine) is like the blood of a pig.”

Sayyidah Umm Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with her) says: One day, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) met me and asked: “Umm Darda’! Where are you coming from?” I said: From the bathhouse.
