Hadith 1958
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Fulan Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that he was walking in such a state that he had let his izar (lower garment) hang below his ankles, when suddenly the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) met him, and at that time the Prophet (peace be upon him) was holding his forehead and saying: "O Allah! I am Your servant, the son of Your servant, and the son of Your maidservant." Amr says: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! My shins are thin." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Amr! Indeed, Allah Almighty has created everything beautifully. Amr!" Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) placed the four fingers of his right hand below Amr's knee and said: "This is the place for the izar." Then he lifted them and, at the distance of the previous four fingers below, again placed four fingers and said: "This is the place for the izar." Then he lifted them and placed them below the second set of four fingers and said: "Amr! This is the place for the izar."
Hadith 1959
- " ارفع إزارك واتق الله ".
Sayyiduna Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw a man in the distance who was dragging his lower garment. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) hurried towards him or rushed to him and said: "Raise your lower garment and fear Allah." He said: "My feet are turned inward and when I walk, my knees knock against each other." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Raise your lower garment, for indeed every creation of Allah is beautiful." After that, that man was not seen except that his lower garment would be up to the middle of his shins.
