Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Remove both (shoes) or wear both, and when you put on your shoes, start with the right foot, and when you take them off, start with the left foot."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you put on your shoes, start with the right foot, and when you take them off, start with the left foot, that is, when putting on shoes, put them on the right foot first, and when taking them off, remove them from the left foot last. And do not walk with only one shoe; rather, take them both off or wear them both."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade a man from putting on shoes while standing.
