اللباس والزينة واللهو والصورBook of Clothing, Adornment, Amusement, and Images
Making or keeping images in Allah’s houses is forbidden
Hadith 1935
- " قاتل الله قوما يصورون ما لا يخلقون ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I went with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) into the Ka'bah. He saw pictures there and asked for a bucket of water. I brought it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) began to erase them and said: "May Allah destroy the people who make pictures of things which they cannot create."
Hadith 1936
- (كان في الكعبة صورٌ، فأمَرَ عمر بن الخطاب أنْ يمحوَها، فَبَلَّ عمرُ ثوباً ومحاها به، فدخلها - صلى الله عليه وسلم - وما فيها من شيءٍ) .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: There were some images in the Ka'bah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered Sayyiduna Umar ibn Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) to erase them. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) wetted a cloth and erased them. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered the Ka'bah, there was no (image) in it.
