الاضاحي والزبائح والاطعمة والاشربة والعقيقة والرفق بالحيوانBook of Sacrifice, Slaughter, Food, Drink, Aqiqah, and Kindness to Animals
Domestic donkey is forbidden, horse is permitted
Hadith 1928
- " نهى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يوم خيبر عن لحوم الحمر الأهلية، وأذن في لحوم الخيل ".
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of Khaybar forbade the meat of domestic donkeys and permitted (maintained the allowance of) the meat of horses.
Hadith 1929
- " لا تأكل الحمار الأهلي ولا كل ذي ناب من السباع ".
Sayyiduna Abu Tha’labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell me which things are lawful for me and which things are unlawful? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not eat the meat of domestic donkeys and every predatory animal with fangs.”
