Ruling on drinking directly from a water skin
Hadith 1924
- " نهى عن اختناث الأسقية ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade bending the mouth of a waterskin from the top and drinking water from the inside.
Hadith 1924M
- " نهى أن نشرب من الإناء المخنوث ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from turning the mouth of a vessel upwards and drinking water from the inside.
Hadith 1925
- " نهى أن يشرب من في السقاء ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade drinking water directly from the mouth of a water-skin. Ayyub says: I have come to know that a man drank water from the mouth of a water-skin, and a snake came out from inside it.
Hadith 1926
- " نهى أن يشرب من في السقاء لأن ذلك ينتنه ".
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade drinking water from the mouth of a water-skin, because it becomes foul-smelling due to that.
