Hadith 1904
- (قُوما فاغسِلا وجوهَكُما، يعني: عائشة وسودة) .
Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I cooked khazirah (a dish made from minced meat and flour) and brought it to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting between me and Sawdah. I said to Sawdah: “You also eat.” She refused to eat. I said: “You will definitely eat this, or I will smear your face with it.” She still refused. So I put my hand in the khazirah and smeared it on her face. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed, and putting his thigh out for her, said to Sawdah: “You also smear it on her face.” So she smeared my face as well, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed. Meanwhile, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by and called out: “O Abdullah! O Abdullah!” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) thought that he was about to enter, so he said to them: “Stand up and wash your faces.” By this, he meant Aisha and Sawdah. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I was always afraid of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), because even the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to be mindful of his awe.
