Striking or branding animals on the face is accursed
Hadith 1812
- " أما بلغكم أني قد لعنت من وسم البهيمة في وجهها، أو ضربها في وجهها؟! فنهى عن ذلك ".
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a donkey whose face had been branded was brought past the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Has the report not reached you that I have cursed the person who brands an animal on its face or strikes it on its face?" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade doing so.
