Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Ata says: A woman said in the presence of Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): "If so-and-so man's wife gives birth to a child, we will slaughter several camels." Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "No, rather the Sunnah is that two goats are to be slaughtered for a boy and one goat for a girl (as 'aqiqah)."
