Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best thing with which people treat themselves is cupping."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Healing is in three things: in cupping, in drinking honey, and in cauterization with fire, but I forbid my Ummah from cauterization with fire."

Sayyidah Salma, the wife of Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with her), says that when any of us had pain in the head, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "Go, get cupping done." And when there was pain in the leg, he would say: "Go, apply henna on it."
