Hadith 1652
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to suffer from pain in his side. One day, he had a very severe pain, to the extent that he lost consciousness, and we began to think that he would pass away on his bed. We turned his tongue to one side and administered medicine from the other side. When he regained consciousness, he realized that we had given him medicine, so he said: "Did you think that Allah would afflict me with pneumonia? Allah will not give disease a way against me. By Allah! Every person in the house must have medicine administered from one side of the tongue to the other, except my uncle Abbas." Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: Medicine was given to every person present in the house. One of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I am fasting." They said to her: "Do you think we will leave you out, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has said that no one in the house should be left without being given medicine?" Then we gave her the medicine, even though she was fasting.
