Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went to visit a sick person and said: "Why do you not call a doctor for him?" They said: O Messenger of Allah! Are you also commanding us to do this? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah the Exalted has not sent down any disease except that He has also sent down its cure."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah the Exalted has sent down a cure for every disease except old age. Make sure to use the milk of cows, for they graze on every kind of tree."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah the Exalted has sent down both the disease and its cure; some people have knowledge of it and some do not."

Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, Allah the Exalted has sent down the disease and also created its cure. Some people know it and some do not, except for «سام».” They asked: “What is «سام»?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: “It is death.”

Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah the Exalted has sent down both the disease and its cure, so seek treatment, but do not use anything unlawful as a remedy."

An Ansari companion says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went to visit a wounded person and said: "Call the physician of such-and-such tribe for him." They called him, and he came and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Does medicine suffice as a cure?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Subhan Allah! Allah, the Exalted, has sent down a cure for every disease He has sent down upon the earth."
