Iblis praises the devil who causes divorce
Hadith 1547
- (إنّ إبليس! يضعُ عرشهُ على الماءِ (وفي طريق: البحر) ، ثم يبعثُ سراياهُ؛ فأدناهُم منه منزلةُ أعظمُهم فتنةً، يجيءُ أحدُهم فيقولُ: فعلتُ كذا وكذا، فيقولُ: ما صنعتَ شيئاً، ثمَّ يجيءُ أحدُهم فيقولُ: ما تركتُه حتى فرّقتُ بينهُ وبين امرأتهِ، فيُدنِيه منه ويقولُ: نِعم أنت! قال الأعمش: أراه قال: فيلتزِمُه) .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Iblis places his throne upon the water (in one narration: upon the sea), then he sends out his armies (to misguide people). The one (devil) who causes the greatest tribulation is the closest to him in rank. One returns and says: I did such and such. Iblis says: You have done nothing. Another comes and says: I did not leave him until I separated him from his wife. Iblis brings him near and says: What a fine fellow you are!" A’mash (the narrator) says: I think my sheikh also narrated these words: "Then he embraces him."
